What are Asian Handicaps ?

Asian Handicaps (or “Asian Handicap”) are a type of sports betting that originally originated in Asia and is now very popular around the world.

The objective of the Asian Handicaps is to balance the odds of winning between the two teams in a sporting event, by assigning a virtual advantage or disadvantage to one of the teams. Thus, the favored team must win by a larger goal margin to overcome the assigned handicap, while the underdog must lose by a smaller goal margin to overcome the handicap.

For example, suppose there is a soccer match between Juventus and Napoli, and Juventus is the favourites. If you want to place an Asian handicap on Juventus, you can choose to assign a -1 goal handicap to Juventus. This means that Juventus must win by a margin of at least 2 goals to cover the handicap, while if Juventus only win by a goal difference, the bet is considered a loser.

On the other hand, if you choose to place an Asian Handicap on Napoli, you can award a +1 goal lead to Napoli. In this case, Napoli wins the bet if they win the match or lose by a single goal difference.

Asian Handicaps can be very useful in situations where there’s a large disparity between the two teams is expected. They allow for more advantageous odds to be obtained for the underdog team. However, it is important to keep in mind that sports betting is always subject to risk and that you need to use your knowledge and the information available to make informed decisions.

Normal Asian and Complex Asian

Complex Asian Handicaps differ from those simple due to the fact that the number of goals applied does not
is an integer, but a decimal number, and is not expected full refund as mathematically not will never result in a result of perfect equality. Asian Handicap +0.5/-0.5 (Half Ball) Called “Half Ball” (ie half ball) allows you to attribute to a specific team a “half goal” of advantage or disadvantage.

Suppose we bet in the Milan-Juventus derby on grenade giving it AH +0.5.
In the event of a win or draw for AC Milan thanks to the positive handicap we will always have an advantage and the
bet will therefore be successful. If Juventus win, we will have lost ours bet as the +0.5 attributed to Milan pre match will not be able to mathematically compensate for the goals suffered. Here’s how a “0 vs 1” defeat would turn into a virtual result of “0.5 vs 1”, i.e. one result negative and therefore losing. If you think about it, AH +0.5 is equivalent in this case
to the classic double chance 1X. Using the same match, let’s suppose instead that we want to bet on Juventus giving them a disadvantage of -0.5. Even in case of a tie the bet would be loser because the tie would be converted into defeat by at least “half a goal” difference. This bet would therefore be equivalent to the 2 of the 1X2 market.

ASIAN HANDICAP 0

Asian Handicap 0 is a type of sports bet that eliminates the possibility of a draw, by returning the stake in the event of a draw. It also known as “score level” or “Draw No Bet”.

In practice, Asian Handicap 0 awards a 0-goal advantage to both teams, eliminating the possibility of a draw as an end result.

If the game ends in a draw, the bet will be deemed “void” and the player will receive a refund of the stake.

The Asian Handicap 0 is a popular choice among players who want to remove the risk of a draw from their bet, but at the same time retain the possibility of winning with only one of the two teams. However, it is important to keep in mind that sports betting is always subject to risk and that you need to use your knowledge and the information available to make informed decisions.

Here are some examples of Asian Handicap bets:

Juventus (-1) vs Naples (+1)
In this case, Juventus are given as favorites and have a handicap of -1, while Napoli have an advantage of +1. This means that to win the bet on Juventus, the team must win by a margin of at least 2 goals. If Juventus win by just one goal, the bet is considered lost. On the other hand, to win the bet on Napoli, the team must win the game or lose by just one goal difference.

Manchester United (-0.5, -1) vs Liverpool (+0.5, +1)
In this case, Manchester United have a handicap of -0.5 and -1, while Liverpool have an advantage of +0.5 and +1. If you choose to place a bet on Manchester United with a handicap of -0.5 and -1, the team must win by at least a two goal difference to cover both handicaps. If Manchester United only win by one goal then the bet is won only for the -0.5 handicap and the other side of the bet is returned. On the other hand, if you choose to bet on Liverpool with a handicap of +0.5 and +1, your bet will win if Liverpool win, draw or lose by just one goal.

Real Madrid (0) vs Barcelona (0)
In this case, both teams have a handicap of 0, eliminating the possibility of a draw. If you choose to place a bet on Real Madrid or Barcelona, your bet will only count as a winner if the chosen team wins the match. If the match ends in a draw, the bet is voided and the player receives a refund of the stake.

Live Asian Handicap

Asian Handicap Live (also known as “in-play” or “live”) is a form of sports betting that is based on the progress of the current match. In practice, the odds of the Asian Handicap are continuously updated during the match, depending on the actions and goals scored by the teams.

For example, if you choose to place an Asian Handicap Live on the match between Juventus and Inter Milan, the handicap can vary in real time based on the events of the match. If Juventus score the opener, the handicap could shift in Inter’s favour, offering more attractive odds for the Inter bet. Similarly, if Inter concede a goal, the handicap could shift in favor of Juventus.

Live Asian Handicap betting requires in-depth knowledge of the teams and their performance on the pitch, as well as an understanding of the teams’ playing strategy. It is important to observe the game closely and monitor handicap fluctuations in real time to identify betting opportunities.
